Supply Chain

Our supply chain is broken into four broad categories, timber and sheet materials, glass & glazing products, ironmongery and tools and general office products.
We work with a small number of the larger and more reputable timber suppliers in the region or country. As our largest inbound expense is timber and is always a key focus area. Whilst price is important, quality and service are key factors in choosing who we work with in the medium term but also for a specific project or commission. Choosing the right materials of the right quality and sizes is a key factor in our commercial success. As we rip timber down to size and then cut and plane to the correct thickness for the job in hand we always seek to minimise wasted timber this not only allows us to price keenly, but is more sustainable. On any particular job we can lose up to one third of timber in cutting and we will often discuss options at the design stage that can reduce this. Reducing a door or window jamb by a few mm can result in significant savings in both cost and waste due to the raw timber used.
We work with a small number of suppliers for glazing products whether for double-glazed wooden windows, glass stair panels, fire screens or fire doors. We monitor closely failure rates in DGU panels for instance to ensure durability is of the highest standard.
